San Joaquin Valley, CA – A thunderstorm threat today could bring heavy rain and hail, creating slippery road conditions across the region. The National Weather Service reports that coverage will be isolated, but the potential for slick surfaces could impact drivers in areas like Highway 99 and Interstate 5.
According to the U.S. National Weather Service in Hanford, there’s a 5-10% chance of thunderstorms this afternoon. These storms may produce brief heavy rainfall and very small hail, enough to temporarily coat roads. Motorists are urged to drive with caution, as slippery conditions could develop quickly during any storm activity.
The storm threat diminishes by tonight, but temperatures will remain cool, ranging from highs in the upper 50s to lows near 40°F. Monday will bring partly sunny skies and a slight warming trend, with highs reaching the low 60s. Dry weather is expected to dominate through Wednesday, but another system could arrive late Thursday, bringing light rain to the valley.
Residents are encouraged to stay informed via local weather updates and prepare for rapid weather changes today. For real-time alerts, follow the National Weather Service and check road conditions before traveling.
