California Summer Weather Alert: Humboldt County Coastal Roads Could See Dense Fog Before 11 a.m. Wednesday and Friday

Eureka, California – Patchy coastal fog will return to Humboldt Bay by early Wednesday morning, followed by clearing skies and a string of mild summer afternoons.

According to the National Weather Service in Eureka, cloud cover will gradually decrease throughout the day Wednesday, allowing sunshine to break through by the afternoon. Highs will reach around 63°F, with calm winds shifting west at 5 to 7 mph.

Fog could reduce visibility along U.S. Highway 101 and State Route 255, especially between 2 a.m. and 10 a.m. Wednesday and again Friday. Drivers should allow extra travel time during morning commutes and use low-beam headlights. Conditions will remain mostly cloudy at night, with overnight lows in the low 50s.

Thursday and Friday bring more patchy fog in the mornings, then mostly cloudy skies with daytime highs in the low 60s. Winds will stay light, and no rain is expected through the weekend.
