Hanford, CA — Residents of central California should prepare for possible rainfall early next week as an upper-level system brings moisture from the Pacific. The San Joaquin Valley, including areas around Hanford and Bakersfield, could see light rain beginning late Sunday through Tuesday. High-elevation regions in the Sierra Nevada, particularly near Yosemite National Park, may experience increased precipitation.
According to the National Weather Service, rain chances for the San Joaquin Valley stand at 15–40%, with precipitation expected to start Monday at 5 p.m. and continue through Tuesday afternoon. Higher elevations are likely to see even more significant rainfall due to the system’s strength. Motorists are urged to drive cautiously as rain could reduce visibility and make roads slick, particularly along Highway 99 and other routes in the region.
Starting today, Hanford will see mostly sunny conditions, with daytime highs reaching around 80°F, dropping to 57°F overnight. Sunday will start cloudy with a high near 77°F before clouds increase toward the evening. By Monday morning, rain will begin moving into the area, bringing cooler temperatures in the mid-60s.
Rain is expected to taper off by Tuesday, with skies clearing for a mostly sunny Tuesday and Wednesday, featuring daytime highs around 68°F. Nights will be cooler, dropping to the low 40s.
