San Francisco, CA – A strong storm system will bring heavy rain and possible flooding to the Bay Area through Friday, with the highest rainfall totals expected in higher elevations. Wind gusts and saturated soil could also lead to downed trees and power outages.
According to the National Weather Service, rainfall totals could reach up to six inches in higher terrain, while urban areas may see two to four inches. A River Flood Warning is in effect along the Sacramento River near Tehama Bridge early Monday morning. Officials warn residents to avoid flooded roads and be prepared for potential road closures.
Tuesday’s forecast includes steady rain with wind gusts up to 29 mph. By Wednesday, rain chances drop to 40%, with drier conditions possible by the weekend. However, another system may bring additional rainfall late Thursday into Friday.
