Eureka, CA — Spring sunshine is on the way for California’s North Coast, with Eureka preparing for a break from scattered showers by Thursday. After a cloudy and damp start to the week, conditions will improve with warmer daytime highs and clear nights—though rain could return by the end of the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service, scattered morning showers will taper off Wednesday before clouds begin clearing overnight. By Thursday, Eureka will see mostly sunny skies and a high near 54°F, providing a welcome dry stretch for coastal residents. Winds will remain light, shifting from northwest to variable overnight.

Drivers on U.S. Route 101 should remain alert as wet roads early Wednesday could cause minor delays. Thursday and Friday, however, should offer safer travel conditions thanks to dry pavement and improved visibility.

Looking ahead, Friday and Saturday continue the spring trend with sunny to mostly sunny skies and highs climbing into the low 60s. Nights will remain cool, with lows in the low-to-mid 40s.

However, the dry streak may end Sunday as another system moves through Humboldt County. Rain chances rise again Sunday night and into Monday, so residents should monitor forecasts closely, especially for outdoor plans.

Five-Day Eureka Weather Outlook:

  • Thursday: Sunny, high 54°F, low 39°F
  • Friday: Sunny, high 61°F, low 43°F
  • Saturday: Mostly sunny, high 63°F, low 47°F
  • Sunday: Chance of rain, high 61°F
  • Monday: Rain likely, high 58°F, low 45°F
