Eureka, Calif. – Coastal residents in Humboldt County will see a steady stretch of mild weather into the upcoming week, with daily highs hovering in the mid-60s and the return of morning and late-night fog. The National Weather Service reports skies will remain partly sunny this weekend, giving way to a more typical coastal pattern of clouds and cooler nights by midweek.

According to the agency, patchy fog is expected to settle in late Sunday night and continue periodically through Friday. Winds will remain light, mainly from the northwest at 5 to 8 mph during afternoons before calming after sunset. This pattern will help keep conditions stable, but drivers along U.S. Highway 101 and coastal routes should use caution during early morning commutes when visibility may drop quickly.

Labor Day itself looks mostly sunny, with a high near 64 and calm evening conditions, making outdoor gatherings safe from strong winds or rain. By Tuesday, temperatures may climb closer to 66 before dipping slightly under increasing cloud cover midweek.

The weather service advises travelers to allow extra time in the mornings for fog clearance, especially around Eureka, Arcata, and McKinleyville. Conditions remain quiet with no storm systems expected, though nightly fog advisories may continue.
