Fort Tejon, CA – A major injury crash on northbound Interstate 5 near Grapevine Road has shut down multiple lanes Saturday afternoon, leading to significant traffic delays through the mountainous corridor, authorities said.

According to the California Highway Patrol Fort Tejon Office, the collision occurred just south of Grapevine Road, prompting the closure of the far-left two lanes for an unknown duration. Traffic in the area remains heavily congested as vehicles move through the remaining open lanes.

Emergency personnel and cleanup crews are currently at the scene working to clear the wreckage and reopen the roadway. CHP is urging drivers to slow down, maintain safe following distances, and avoid aggressive maneuvers while traveling through the Grapevine pass.

Photos from the scene show at least one vehicle overturned on the shoulder, with fire and tow crews assisting with removal. No update has yet been released regarding the number of individuals injured or their conditions.

Motorists traveling between Los Angeles County and Kern County should expect delays and consider alternate routes until the lanes reopen. CHP officials remind all drivers to remain alert, patient, and buckled up while navigating through the affected area.
