Hanford, California – Sunny skies and soaring temperatures will grip the San Joaquin Valley through midweek, with Hanford expecting a high near 89°F by Tuesday—bringing increased fire danger and prompting heat safety reminders.

According to the National Weather Service in Hanford, dry conditions will persist with daytime highs steadily rising from 81°F Saturday to 89°F Tuesday. Winds will remain calm to light, though northwesterly breezes could pick up to 10 mph midweek.

Cities across Kings County, including Lemoore and Corcoran, will also see sustained sunshine and highs in the mid-80s. Overnight lows will stay mild, hovering in the low to mid-50s, offering limited overnight relief.

While the warmth may be welcome for outdoor activities, officials urge residents to stay hydrated, avoid strenuous work during peak heat hours, and be cautious with equipment or open flames due to dry vegetation. No rainfall is expected through at least Friday, keeping fire risk elevated in surrounding grasslands.

This marks one of the warmest stretches of the season so far, with temperatures running 5 to 10 degrees above average for late April. Light winds and clear skies will dominate until a potential cooldown late next week.

More updates will follow if air quality advisories or heat warnings are issued.
