Sacramento, Calif. – A dangerous stretch of heat will grip Northern and Central California starting at 11 a.m. Friday, with temperatures soaring to 107°F in parts of the Sacramento Valley and Foothills and no significant overnight relief through Saturday night.
According to the National Weather Service in Sacramento, the Heat Advisory will remain in effect until 11 p.m. Saturday, May 31. Areas at risk include the Valley, Delta, Foothills, and northern Coastal Range, where daytime highs are forecast between 99°F and 107°F, and nighttime lows may not dip below the mid-70s.
Communities from Redding and Chico to Stockton and Modesto face a Major HeatRisk, increasing the chance of heat-related illnesses.
