Hanford, CA — A heat advisory is in effect for Hanford as temperatures are forecasted to soar into the triple digits on Monday. The National Weather Service advises residents to take precautions, especially between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. when temperatures will peak around 101°F.

With minimal winds expected, the heat will linger throughout the afternoon and into the evening, when temperatures are still projected to be in the high 60s. Travelers in the area, particularly on Highway 198, are urged to remain hydrated, avoid prolonged sun exposure, and limit outdoor activities during peak heat hours.

Northwest winds will bring slight relief by late evening, with temperatures dipping into the high 60s overnight. However, the heat will persist throughout the week. By Tuesday, highs will approach 99°F, and overnight lows will remain in the 60s.

To stay safe, avoid outdoor activities during midday heat, drink plenty of water, and check on vulnerable individuals, including children and the elderly. Hanford is expected to stay in the high 90s through Thursday, so it’s crucial to monitor weather updates and take necessary precautions.
