Eureka, CA – A Frost Advisory remains in effect for portions of northern and southern California through Wednesday morning, with the National Weather Service warning that overnight lows near or below freezing could damage sensitive outdoor plants and crops.

The advisory covers the Ojai Valley in Ventura County and several North Coast regions, including the Humboldt and Mendocino Counties’ coastal and inland valleys. Temperatures are expected to dip as low as 29°F to 34°F, particularly in sheltered valleys away from the coast.

According to the weather service, frost formation is likely between midnight and 9 a.m. Wednesday, with the coldest temperatures expected around sunrise. Residents in affected areas—including Ojai, Ukiah, Eureka, and Arcata—are urged to cover or bring in sensitive plants, protect outdoor pets, and avoid leaving exposed pipes uninsulated.

Forecasters note that fog or low clouds may form in some valleys, keeping temperatures slightly higher in spots, but widespread frost is still likely. Conditions will gradually warm after sunrise, with temperatures rebounding by late morning.
