Hanford, CA – A Freeze Watch is in effect for the southwestern San Joaquin Valley, with temperatures expected to dip below freezing tonight into Wednesday morning. Residents are urged to take precautions to protect sensitive plants and animals from the cold.
According to the National Weather Service, the Freeze Watch remains active through 8 a.m. Wednesday. Low temperatures are predicted to range from 31°F to 38°F in many areas, including Hanford, Visalia, and Fresno. The advisory also warns of a Dense Fog Advisory active until noon Tuesday, reducing visibility to a quarter mile or less in many parts of the region, including Highway 99 and nearby rural roads.
Drivers should proceed with caution during foggy conditions, using headlights and reducing speed to avoid accidents. Visibility challenges have already caused delays on major roadways.
The week ahead brings mixed weather, with partly sunny skies forecast on Wednesday and highs near 60°F. A chance of rain emerges Thursday morning, with temperatures peaking at 57°F and overnight lows in the high 30s. By Friday, skies are expected to clear, offering calm and dry conditions with highs in the mid-50s.
Residents are encouraged to prepare for fluctuating weather and monitor updates from the National Weather Service. Stay alert to changing road conditions and take proactive steps to stay safe during freezing temperatures and dense fog.
