San Francisco, CA – A freeze warning and frost advisory will impact much of the Bay Area and Central Coast starting early Saturday morning. Sub-freezing temperatures could damage plants, pipes, and pose risks to pets and vulnerable populations.
According to the National Weather Service, temperatures will drop below 32°F in some inland areas between 1 a.m. and 9 a.m. Saturday. Frost advisories are in place for coastal regions where lows will range from 33°F to 36°F. Cold conditions are expected to persist through Wednesday morning.
Saturday’s forecast calls for sunny skies with a high near 56°F. Overnight temperatures will dip into the low 40s, maintaining chilly conditions. Sunday and Monday will bring similar weather, with daytime highs reaching the mid-50s and mostly clear skies overnight.
Residents should take precautions by covering plants, insulating pipes, and keeping pets indoors. Drivers should be wary of icy patches in the early morning hours, especially in inland valleys.
A slight warming trend is expected later in the week, but overnight cold will remain a concern. Stay updated with local forecasts for further alerts.
