California – A California Highway Patrol (CHP) K-9 unit made a significant drug bust on Tuesday, seizing approximately 190 pounds of methamphetamine valued at $3.4 million.

According to CHP, officers stopped a white Ford F-150 on Interstate 5 at Boyle Ave at 9:37 a.m. The driver fled, leading to a high-speed chase that ended with the suspect’s arrest. K-9 Axel, a 5-year-old Czech shepherd, played a crucial role in uncovering the hidden drugs, along with $5,000 in cash.

The suspect’s name is being withheld pending further investigation. Authorities believe this seizure is a substantial blow to the local drug trafficking network. The CHP has urged anyone with information regarding this case to contact their Southern Division Special Services at (323) 644-9550 or the Los Angeles Communications Center at (323) 259-3200 after hours.
