Sonoma Valley, CA – Motorists traveling in Sonoma Valley early Saturday morning face reduced visibility as a dense fog advisory remains in effect until 9 a.m. The advisory, issued by the National Weather Service (NWS), warns of visibility dropping to a quarter-mile or less in some areas.
According to the NWS, the dense fog is impacting the North Bay Valleys, including Cloverdale, Santa Rosa, and Napa. Drivers are urged to use extreme caution, slow down, and rely on low-beam headlights to navigate safely. Sudden visibility changes may occur, especially along major routes such as Highway 101 and State Route 12.
By late Saturday morning, the fog is expected to dissipate, but a 30% chance of rain may follow. Rain showers are likely to intensify Saturday night, with precipitation lingering into Sunday morning. Daytime highs will reach the mid-50s, while nighttime lows will hover around 43 degrees.
Looking ahead, sunny skies are forecast starting Monday, providing relief from the weekend’s foggy and rainy conditions. Temperatures are expected to climb slightly, with highs near 59 degrees Monday and Tuesday.
Travelers are encouraged to monitor real-time updates from the National Weather Service and adjust their plans to ensure safety during hazardous conditions. Pedestrians and cyclists should also exercise caution near busy roadways.
