Bakersfield, California – A massive cargo theft involving nearly $1 million worth of LEGO products tied to an Amazon trailer has led to multiple arrests in Kern County, raising concerns about organized retail theft operations across California.

According to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded Wednesday to the 400 block of Silver Queen Road after reports of suspicious vehicles. When deputies arrived, two box trucks were seen fleeing the area, prompting traffic stops that led to the identification of three suspects from Southern California.

Investigators discovered the trucks were loaded with large quantities of LEGO products and later located two stolen freight trailers. Authorities determined the cargo had been taken while in transit from Fort Worth, Texas, to Moreno Valley, California—part of a major shipping route tied to Amazon logistics.

The recovered shipment, valued at approximately $1 million, was found stacked on pallets inside the trailers. Photos released by deputies show shrink-wrapped boxes filling the cargo space of the trailer.

All three suspects were arrested and face multiple charges, including cargo theft, possession of a stolen vehicle, and conspiracy.

Officials warn cargo theft remains a growing issue across California, particularly along major freight corridors. The investigation remains ongoing, and additional arrests could follow.
