San Francisco, CA – The National Weather Service in the Bay Area has issued a Cold Weather Advisory through 8 a.m. Friday, warning of chilly overnight temperatures across several parts of Northern and Central California.
The advisory covers the North Bay Valleys, East Bay Valleys, and southern interior areas of Monterey and San Benito Counties, including the southern Salinas Valley. Overnight lows are expected to range between 33°F and 36°F, with some higher elevations dipping into the upper 20s.
Forecasters caution that these cold temperatures could pose hazards to unhoused individuals, pets, livestock, and sensitive vegetation. Residents are urged to bring pets indoors, cover plants, and check on neighbors who may be vulnerable to the cold.
Prolonged exposure could lead to hypothermia or frostbite, especially before sunrise Friday. Conditions will gradually moderate during the day as temperatures rise into the 50s and 60s under mostly clear skies.
