San Francisco, California – Drivers and park-goers around San Francisco Bay should brace for minor coastal flooding through midnight as a Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 12 a.m. Monday.

According to the National Weather Service in Monterey, the advisory began at 6 p.m. Sunday and targets the low-lying shorelines of San Francisco Bay and San Pablo Bay. Marin County’s Manzanita Park N Ride is a primary area of concern, with tidal flooding expected during Sunday night’s high tide cycle.

Flooding may impact coastal lots, roads, and parks, with isolated closures possible. Local officials urge residents not to drive around barricades or through standing water of unknown depth — even shallow flooding can stall vehicles or conceal hazards.

While this type of advisory is typical during summer nocturnal high tides, it still poses a risk to low-lying infrastructure. Coastal drivers and cyclists should reroute or delay travel along shoreline roads like Highway 1 near Mill Valley.

Advisories may be extended if high tides remain elevated into early Monday. Updates will be issued as necessary by the NWS.
