Eureka, CA – Patchy coastal fog is expected to limit visibility through late Thursday morning in Eureka, posing travel delays for morning commuters along the North Coast.

According to the National Weather Service, fog is forecast to persist until 11 a.m. Thursday, particularly affecting low-lying areas. Overnight lows will remain around 44°F, with calm winds transitioning to light westerlies by the afternoon. Drivers are urged to reduce speed and use low beams during early morning hours, as visibility could drop below 7 miles in dense patches.

Conditions will improve gradually as the fog lifts, with skies becoming mostly sunny by midday Thursday. Daytime highs will reach near 60°F, continuing into Friday with warmer highs near 62°F. While mornings will remain foggy, the trend through the weekend includes mostly clear skies and moderate coastal temperatures, staying in the upper 50s.

Saturday and Sunday will bring steady sun and highs near 58°F, with cooler overnight lows hovering in the mid-40s. No rain is expected during this period.

Travelers along U.S. Highway 101 and within Humboldt County should remain alert during early commutes. Pedestrians and cyclists are also advised to exercise caution due to reduced visibility near coastal roadways.
