Eureka, California – After a stretch of dry, sunny days, light coastal rain will return to Northern California starting Friday, bringing drizzle to communities from Eureka to Crescent City and heavier mountain showers in the east through Saturday evening.

According to the National Weather Service in Eureka, a low-pressure system is moving along the California coast, breaking the recent warm spell. Light rain and drizzle will impact Del Norte and Humboldt County coastlines beginning Friday morning, with wet conditions lingering until late Saturday. Farther inland, residents in Trinity, Mendocino, and Lake counties can expect most rain Friday and Saturday, along with light snow at elevations above 5,500 feet.

Cities like Arcata, Fortuna, and Garberville will see between a tenth and half an inch of rain. Areas near Ruth and Bridgeville could experience higher rainfall totals, while mountain roads may have slick conditions due to snow. Impacts are expected to be minimal, but officials recommend moving sensitive items indoors and watching for increased debris on roadways.

This weather pattern will continue through Saturday night, with drier weather expected to return by Monday. Stay alert for additional advisories as conditions evolve.
