Eureka, CA – Gusty winds and rain are expected tonight across Del Norte and Humboldt counties, posing risks for power outages and hazardous travel.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), a High Wind Warning remains in effect tonight, with peak gusts potentially reaching 60 mph over coastal headlands and interior mountains. The warning advises residents to secure loose outdoor items and prepare for possible tree damage and downed power lines.

Showers will intensify overnight, leading to sustained winds of 22–26 mph and rainfall between a half and three-quarters of an inch. Travelers, especially along U.S. Route 101, should exercise caution as debris and fallen branches may obstruct roadways.

Looking ahead, Thursday will bring additional showers and thunderstorms, followed by consistent rainfall through the weekend. Heavy rain Friday and Saturday could lead to localized flooding. Residents should monitor updates and be ready for sudden weather changes.
