Calhoun County, MI: Sheriff’s Office Investigating Early Morning Shooting

Sheridan Township, MI – The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting early Sunday morning that left two people hospitalized — one with life-threatening injuries — in Sheridan Township.

Deputies responded around 12:44 a.m. on October 26, 2025, to reports of multiple gunshots near C Drive North and 29 Mile Road. When they arrived, officers found a 21-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman, both from Battle Creek, suffering from gunshot wounds at separate nearby locations.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, both victims were given immediate medical aid by first responders before being transported to Henry Ford Health for treatment. The extent of their injuries remains under investigation.

The Calhoun Area Multi-Jurisdictional Evidence Team (CAMJET) and the CCSO Accident Reconstruction Team processed the scene with assistance from the Michigan State Police Crime Lab. The Violent Crime Task Force and Calhoun County Detective Bureau are continuing to investigate.

Authorities were assisted at the scene by multiple agencies, including the Albion Department of Public Safety, Sheridan Township Fire Department, and Marshall Police Department.
