Springfield, MI – A 10-year-old girl was reportedly approached by an unknown man in Springfield on Monday afternoon.
According to the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the 300 Block of Avenue C at approximately 1:30 p.m. The girl stated that a middle-aged white male with a black beard, tattoos on his arms and legs, and piercings on his eyebrows, nose, and lips attempted to lure her into his white Ford pickup truck.
The truck, described as having a black cap over the bed and black rims, was last seen driving eastbound on Avenue C. Deputies canvassed the area but were unable to locate the suspect.
The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau is assisting in the investigation, with additional patrols being deployed. Anyone with information is urged to contact Lieutenant Curtis Smith at 269-781-0880 or Silent Observer at 269-964-3888.
