Burlington, Vermont – Drivers across Vermont could face reduced visibility during the early morning hours as fog and low clouds blanket much of the region at the start of the day.
According to the National Weather Service in Burlington, patchy fog and low clouds will gradually improve through the morning, especially across valleys and southern portions of the state. However, northern areas and higher elevations may hold onto cloud cover longer, limiting visibility into the late morning hours.
Temperatures will remain on the cooler side today, with highs generally in the upper 30s to mid-40s across much of Vermont. Locations such as Montpelier, St. Johnsbury, and the Northeast Kingdom will stay cooler, while southern areas may see slightly milder readings.
Breezy north winds will add a chill through the day, particularly along exposed roadways and higher terrain. Travel on routes like I-89 and Route 7 may be impacted early by fog, especially in low-lying areas.
Conditions improve slightly this afternoon with some partial clearing, though clouds will linger in the mountains. Winds will diminish tonight, with calmer conditions expected heading into the next day.
