Burlington, Vt. – Morning fog settled into Vermont’s valleys Sunday but is already lifting, revealing a clear and comfortable day across the region. Sunshine, low humidity, and light winds will make conditions ideal for outdoor activities.

According to the National Weather Service in Burlington, temperatures will range from the upper 60s in the higher terrain to the mid-70s in the valleys. Skies will remain mostly clear through the afternoon with only light northerly breezes at 5 to 10 mph or less.

Drivers in fog-prone areas should remain cautious during early morning commutes, particularly in lower-lying stretches along I-89 and U.S. Route 7, where visibility may remain reduced until late morning. Once the fog lifts, travel conditions are expected to be excellent.

Outdoor enthusiasts can expect a comfortable day for hiking, boating, or backyard gatherings. The lower humidity will also bring some relief after a stretch of summer warmth. Those heading into the higher elevations of the Green Mountains should prepare for cooler conditions compared to the valleys.

The pleasant weather is expected to continue into early next week, though additional updates may be issued if fog returns overnight into Monday.
