Burlington, VT – A wet and blustery Halloween is unfolding across Vermont today, bringing rain, gusty winds, and a sharp drop in temperatures through tonight.

According to the US National Weather Service Burlington, widespread west to northwest wind gusts of 25 to 35 mph are expected, with some higher gusts reaching up to 45 mph along the eastern slopes of the Adirondacks in New York. The heaviest rain will occur through this evening, particularly in northern Vermont.

Temperatures will hover in the upper 30s to lower 40s tonight, but strong winds will make it feel colder—wind chills are expected in the upper 20s to mid-30s. A transition to snow is possible around midnight in higher elevations of the Adirondacks.

Residents are advised to secure Halloween decorations, prepare for slippery roads, and bundle up if heading out tonight. Drivers should use caution, especially on wet and leaf-covered roads.
