Burlington, VT – Snowfall totals continue to rise across Vermont and New York’s North Country as a November storm moves through the region today. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Burlington released preliminary accumulation estimates showing a wide range of totals, with heavier bands focused in the mountains and upslope areas.

According to the NWS, localized pockets in northern Vermont and the Adirondacks recorded 6 to 8 inches so far, with one higher spot in New York showing 8.9 inches. Much of central and northern Vermont reported 2 to 5 inches, including locations around Stowe, Morrisville and the Northeast Kingdom. Southern Vermont saw lower totals, generally a dusting to 2 inches, with some isolated values near 3 inches.

In northern New York, totals varied significantly from 0.3 inches along the St. Lawrence Valley to 4–6 inches in portions of the Adirondacks. The heaviest snowfall is associated with persistent upslope flow, which forecasters say will continue through tonight.

The map released by NWS Burlington shows widespread light-to-moderate accumulations, but officials emphasize that the values are estimates derived from observed and reported data. Snowfall rates may fluctuate as the storm continues to evolve.

Road conditions remain slick across higher elevations, and motorists are urged to use caution, particularly in the northern Green Mountains and Adirondack passes where additional accumulation is most likely. Light snow is expected to taper off gradually overnight into early Tuesday.

Residents are encouraged to continue sending in reports to help refine snowfall totals as the storm winds down.
