Burlington, Vermont – Morning showers could dampen parts of central and southern Vermont early Saturday, but clearer skies and cooler air will dominate the rest of the weekend, offering a welcome break from unsettled weather.
According to the National Weather Service in Burlington, light rain is expected to move in Friday night and taper off by mid-morning Saturday, mainly south of Montpelier and into the Green Mountains. Rain chances will remain low—between 15% and 25%—with skies turning partly sunny by midday. Friday stays mostly sunny with highs in the low 70s and no expected precipitation.
Communities in the southern half of the state, including Rutland, Bennington, and Brattleboro, may see brief rain early Saturday. Mountain regions could experience isolated showers again on Sunday, but most of Vermont will enjoy partly sunny skies and high temperatures ranging from 68°F to 75°F.
Travelers should use caution Saturday morning on Route 7 and Route 9, especially in higher elevations, where wet roads could briefly create slick spots.
The weekend’s primary theme will be cooler temperatures and clearer skies. No major weather disruptions are expected after Saturday morning, but minor showers could return to higher terrain Sunday afternoon.
