Burlington, VT – Rain showers are lingering across much of Vermont today, with light to moderate rainfall expected mainly across central and southern areas, according to the US National Weather Service Burlington.
Forecasters report that rainfall totals will range from a quarter inch to around three-quarters of an inch south of Montpelier, while areas near the Canadian border will see only spotty light rain. The steadiest precipitation is expected through Monday afternoon before tapering off late tonight.
By Tuesday, conditions will turn cooler and drier, ushering in a quieter midweek weather pattern with highs in the 50s to low 60s. Sunshine is expected to return by Wednesday, marking a pleasant transition toward more typical October weather.
According to the Weather Service, another system could bring a few scattered showers late in the weekend, but no hazardous weather is anticipated this week.
Drivers should remain cautious during the morning commute as wet roads and patchy fog may briefly reduce visibility.
