Statesboro, GA – A months-long narcotics investigation in Bulloch County culminated this week with a major seizure of drugs and the arrest of a Statesboro man following coordinated operations on Lanier Drive and at a local hotel.

According to the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO), the Crime Suppression Team (CST) executed an arrest warrant near a residence on Lanier Drive and a separate search warrant at a hotel within the city limits of Statesboro. Investigators say the search uncovered a significant quantity of cocaine, fentanyl, marijuana, prescription pills, methamphetamine, and a firearm.

BCSO reports that the suspect, Michael Jenkins of Statesboro, allegedly trafficked multiple controlled substances into Bulloch County. Jenkins was taken into custody and transported to the Bulloch County Jail.

According to investigators, Jenkins faces an extensive list of charges, including trafficking cocaine, trafficking fentanyl, two counts of sale of cocaine, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, six counts of possession of a Schedule II controlled substance with intent to distribute, possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during the commission of certain felonies, two counts of unlawful use of a communication facility, drugs not in the original container, possession of drug-related objects, and a seatbelt violation.

Sheriff Noel Brown urged residents to continue reporting suspected drug activity, noting that all tips to the CST remain anonymous and are fully investigated.
