Buffalo, NY – The National Weather Service in Buffalo says Western New York will see a seasonably cool and cloudy finish to October, with scattered lake-effect rain showers continuing through Sunday.

According to forecasters, Saturday will bring mostly cloudy skies and occasional rain showers south and southeast of Lake Erie and Lake Ontario. Highs will reach the low to mid-50s, while overnight lows are expected to fall between 32 and 38 degrees, dipping to the upper 20s east of Lake Ontario.

Sunday looks slightly colder, with highs only in the 40s to around 50 degrees. Isolated rain showers are expected near the southern lakeshores, and overnight frost is likely heading into early Monday morning as temperatures drop into the 20s and low 30s inland.

Residents are advised to prepare for colder mornings and potential slick spots from light precipitation. The NWS notes that conditions will remain seasonable but chilly heading into the final week of October.
