Buffalo, NY – Western New York will see a mainly dry and seasonably cool day today as high pressure settles over the region, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Buffalo. Despite generally quiet weather, a few nuisance showers may still form in localized areas.

According to NWS forecasters, a light rain or snow shower may linger southeast of Lake Ontario early this morning before dissipating. Later in the afternoon, a stray rain shower could develop near the New York–Pennsylvania state line, but coverage will remain extremely limited. For most of the region—including Buffalo, Niagara Falls, Rochester, and areas along I-90—the day will stay dry.

Temperatures will remain on the chilly side. Daytime highs are expected to stay slightly below seasonal averages, topping out in the upper 30s across the North Country and low 40s across the Buffalo metro, Batavia, Warsaw, and the rest of Western NY. Areas along the Southern Tier may reach the low-to-mid 40s by late afternoon.

High pressure will help keep skies partly to mostly cloudy, and winds will stay light. No significant weather impacts are expected, and travel conditions should remain favorable throughout the day.

Tonight, temperatures will fall back into the upper 20s and low 30s, setting the stage for another cool but quiet stretch heading into midweek.

Residents across Western New York can expect more of the same through the next couple of days, with mostly dry weather and gradual temperature moderation.
