Buffalo, New York – Rain will hit Buffalo hard by late Wednesday with a chance of localized flooding and reduced visibility on I-90 and Route 33. A storm system bringing up to half an inch of precipitation is set to sweep through the region, with rain intensifying Wednesday night and persisting into Thursday morning.

According to the National Weather Service, showers will begin after 11 a.m. Wednesday, followed by heavier rain overnight. Southeast winds between 8 to 14 mph will accompany the storm, with gusts nearing 20 mph. Precipitation chances stand at 70% by day and climb to 80% overnight. Commuters should prepare for slick roads and slower travel, especially on major routes like I-190 and NY-198. Avoid flooded roadways and allow extra drive time.

By Thursday, spotty showers may continue into the morning, with drying skies by afternoon. Friday brings another round of unstable air with a 40% chance of thunderstorms in the evening.

Looking ahead, Saturday and Sunday offer a break from the rain with mostly sunny skies and summer-like highs in the mid-60s. Lows will hover in the upper 40s. Monday brings a slight rain chance again, with highs returning to around 70°F.

Warnings remain in effect through Thursday morning. Stay updated with local alerts and delay non-essential travel during heavy rain periods.
