Buffalo, N.Y. – Western New York will see a taste of late-summer warmth next week as highs climb into the low 80s by Monday and remain there through midweek. Dry conditions are expected to hold across much of the state, making for a stretch of pleasant but unseasonably warm days.
According to the National Weather Service in Buffalo, near-seasonal temperatures this weekend will shift above normal starting Monday. Cities including Rochester, Batavia, and Jamestown are expected to reach 80 to 83 degrees by Tuesday, with Buffalo holding steady in the 81 to 82 range. The warmup should extend into at least the middle of the month, paired with mostly dry skies.
The warmer stretch may benefit outdoor plans but could stress lawns, crops, and gardens as rainfall remains limited. Residents are encouraged to conserve water where possible and stay hydrated during extended time outdoors. Roadwork and other infrastructure projects across the region should also move ahead with minimal weather disruptions.
The weather service notes that the above-normal temperature trend has a high probability of continuing through September 22, with only isolated cooling chances later next week.
