Buffalo, NY – Residents across western and northcentral New York can expect a shift toward cooler conditions today, though skies will remain mostly dry.
According to the National Weather Service in Buffalo, a moisture-starved cold front is moving south through the region Tuesday morning. Behind it, a large Canadian high-pressure system will settle over New York, keeping rain chances at bay.
High temperatures are forecast to range from the lower 70s in Buffalo, Rochester, and Syracuse to the mid-70s across the Southern Tier. The cooler airmass will continue to filter south throughout the day, with overnight lows expected to dip further than earlier this week.
Meteorologists note that while the front is unlikely to bring any measurable rainfall, the change in air mass will be noticeable. Drier, more comfortable conditions are expected to persist through midweek, making for favorable weather for commuters and outdoor activities.
The National Weather Service advises residents to plan for slightly cooler mornings and evenings but expects no major disruptions from today’s front.
