Buffalo, NY – Residents across Erie County should brace for a messy stretch of winter weather this week, as snow, rain, and gusty winds are expected to impact travel through Wednesday.

According to the National Weather Service, light snow and fog will continue overnight Sunday with temperatures near 28°F, before a mix of snow and rain moves in by midweek. Monday will bring additional snow showers and highs near 32°F, followed by a wintry mix Tuesday and widespread rain on Wednesday.

Forecasters warn of changing road conditions, with snow accumulation of up to an inch overnight and gusty northwest winds reaching 21 mph. By Wednesday, temperatures are expected to climb to 43°F, shifting most precipitation to rain.

Winds could gust as high as 28 mph, particularly Wednesday afternoon, when travel may become hazardous due to slushy or water-covered roads. Conditions will gradually improve by Thursday, with partly sunny skies returning by Friday and highs in the mid-40s.

Residents are advised to monitor updated forecasts and allow extra time for morning commutes through midweek.
