Buffalo, New York – A steady warm-up is underway across western New York, but a round of rain tied to a cold front will interrupt the trend Friday before a sharp rebound early next week.

According to the National Weather Service in Buffalo, temperatures will rise through Thursday with dry conditions holding across much of the region. Highs will climb into the 50s and low 60s in cities including Buffalo, Rochester, and Jamestown, offering a stretch of mild spring weather.

Rain moves in Friday as a cold front crosses the region, bringing scattered showers that could impact travel along I-90, I-190, and Route 33. While widespread heavy rain is not expected, wet roads and reduced visibility may slow the morning and afternoon commutes.

Behind the front, cooler air settles in Saturday, with temperatures dropping back closer to seasonal levels. Dry conditions are expected to return for much of the weekend.

The pattern shifts again by early next week, with temperatures surging well above average. Highs are expected to reach into the upper 60s and low 70s by Monday and Tuesday, marking the warmest stretch in several weeks.

Residents should plan for changing conditions over the next few days, with additional updates possible as the next system approaches Friday.
