Buffalo, NY – A quiet stretch of weather is expected for most of Western New York through Thursday, with only a slight chance of spotty light rain or snow across the Southern Tier tonight.

According to the National Weather Service in Buffalo, a weak system passing well to the south may send a few light showers toward areas such as Olean, Wellsville, and Dansville late tonight. Any precipitation is expected to be brief and minimal, with most locations remaining dry.

Forecasters say the broader region—including Buffalo, Rochester, Batavia, Medina, Warsaw, and Watertown—will stay dry and uneventful through Thursday. Skies will trend partly to mostly cloudy at times, but no significant weather impacts are expected.

Temperatures will follow a slow warming trend, with highs Wednesday ranging from the upper 30s to lower 40s, climbing into the low to mid-40s by Thursday afternoon. Overnight lows will remain chilly, generally in the upper 20s to mid-30s, with colder pockets in rural areas.

Rain and snow chances remain near 0% for nearly all locations Wednesday and Thursday, with only slight (5–15%) probabilities along the Southern Tier.

Forecasters note that the quiet pattern should help road and travel conditions remain stable through the midweek period.
