Buffalo, NY – After a cool and cloudy Friday, western New York will enjoy a brief warmup Saturday before unsettled weather returns Sunday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service in Buffalo.

Forecasters say clouds will increase Friday afternoon, with a few light showers possible overnight across far western New York. Highs will reach the lower 60s, with overnight lows dipping into the 40s.

Saturday will bring a pleasant change, featuring partly to mostly sunny skies and highs in the upper 60s to mid-70s across much of the region. Conditions will remain dry through most of the day before moisture begins to increase from the west.

By Sunday, showers will spread from west to east across western and central New York, lasting through Sunday night and into Monday morning. Temperatures will remain mild, with highs in the mid-60s to upper 70s and lows in the upper 40s to lower 50s.

Meteorologists note that while rain may affect outdoor plans late in the weekend, overall temperatures will stay well above seasonal averages for mid-October.
