Buffalo, NY – A stretch of unseasonably warm weather will continue across Western New York through early next week, according to the National Weather Service in Buffalo.

The agency reports that temperatures will trend above normal through Monday, October 6, with highs across cities such as Buffalo, Rochester, and Niagara Falls reaching the upper 70s to low 80s. Dry conditions are also expected to persist during this period.

According to the National Weather Service, a cold front will arrive by midweek, bringing a round of showers and a brief cooldown on Tuesday and Wednesday. Forecast highs are projected to dip into the mid-60s before rebounding later in the week.

Looking further ahead, the latest 8–14 day outlook from NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center, valid October 9–15, continues to favor above-normal temperatures across much of the eastern United States, including New York State. The probability map shows a 50–60% chance of warmer-than-average conditions holding into mid-October.

This extended warmth follows a relatively dry start to fall across the region. Local residents can expect outdoor-friendly conditions this weekend before next week’s short-lived cooldown.
