Brookfield, Illinois – The Cook County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in locating Erica Thompson, who vanished nearly six years ago in Brookfield, Illinois. Thompson, who was 53 at the time, was last seen on Sept. 25, 2019, and has not been heard from since.
According to the Cook County Sheriff’s Office, Thompson was captured on video the day she disappeared before vanishing without a trace. Investigators say all of Illinois and nearby southern states remain possible areas of interest in the ongoing search. At the time of her disappearance, she was driving a 2014 purple Nissan Juke.
Thompson is described as a white female, now 59 years old, with blue eyes and blonde/strawberry hair. She is approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs about 130 pounds. The Sheriff’s Office’s Special Victims Unit has kept the case active as part of its Missing Persons Project, which focuses on unresolved missing person cases.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about Thompson’s whereabouts or her vehicle to contact them. Tips can be submitted by calling 773-674-9490 or emailing ccso.missingpersons@ccsheriff.org. Even small details could prove vital in helping investigators determine what happened.
The Sheriff’s Office emphasizes that missing person cases are never closed until they are resolved, and they remain committed to finding answers for Thompson’s family.
