Bronx, NY – A traffic stop in the Bronx on Sunday led to the arrest of a man allegedly found with a stolen firearm and drugs, according to the New York State Police.

Troopers from Troop NYC said they arrested Darnell Clinksdale, 37, on November 16, 2025, following a roadside investigation near Interstate 695 and 295 South. Authorities said Clinksdale was driving a white 2018 Land Rover that had entered the shoulder to bypass traffic when a trooper conducted the stop.

According to police, Clinksdale was allegedly driving with a suspended license. During a search of the vehicle, troopers reportedly discovered a stolen loaded handgun, a modified magazine, and controlled substances.

State Police said Clinksdale faces several charges, including criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, possession of stolen property, and aggravated unlicensed operation.

He was taken to the NYPD’s 45th Precinct for processing and later remanded to Bronx Central Bookings pending arraignment.

The New York State Police said the arrest removes another illegal firearm from city streets as part of ongoing enforcement operations targeting gun and drug crimes in the Bronx.
