A trooper stopped an Acura TL for multiple vehicle and traffic law violations, including an obscured vehicle identification number and license plate.
During a roadside interview, police say the driver — identified as Miguel A. Palacios, 38, of the Bronx — was allegedly found in possession of a handgun. Further investigation revealed the weapon was an imitation and non-operational firearm, according to state police.
Troopers say that after Palacios was taken into custody, a search of the vehicle uncovered brass knuckles and a forged New York State parking placard. Police also determined that Palacios was allegedly operating the vehicle while his license was suspended.
