Brigham City, UT – Residents in Eastern Box Elder County, including Brigham City and Snowville, are being advised to prepare for a potential early-season freeze as the National Weather Service (NWS) in Salt Lake City continues a Freeze Watch from late Monday night through Tuesday morning.

Forecasters warn that temperatures could fall as low as 29°F, leading to frost and freeze conditions capable of damaging crops, gardens, and unprotected outdoor plumbing.

According to the NWS, residents should take preventive measures now, including covering tender plants, draining sprinkler systems, and insulating exposed pipes before temperatures dip overnight.

The watch follows a stretch of clear, dry weather and signals the first significant cold outbreak of the fall season for parts of northern Utah. Calm winds and clear skies late Monday are expected to enhance overnight cooling, increasing the potential for widespread frost formation.

Daytime highs are expected to rebound slightly Tuesday afternoon, but another cold night may follow before midweek warming trends return.
