Brevard County, FL – A Brevard County woman faces multiple felony charges after deputies allegedly found cocaine concealed on her while she was being booked into jail, authorities said.

According to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, Dymond Osbourne was arrested Monday after allegedly throwing a cinder block through the rear window of a vehicle. Deputies said she later accepted a courtesy ride to the Brevard County Jail’s Ivey’s Iron Bar Lodge for booking.

During the intake process, Osbourne allegedly told corrections staff she had a bag of cocaine in her “jail purse.” Authorities said that although she had been handcuffed behind her back during transport, she admitted she was able to maneuver her hands to consume some of the cocaine that had been concealed in her clothing.

A subsequent search allegedly revealed approximately 6 grams of cocaine hidden on her person, according to the sheriff’s office.

In addition to the initial criminal mischief charge related to the damaged vehicle, Osbourne was charged with introduction of a controlled substance into a detention facility, possession of a controlled substance, and tampering with evidence, authorities said.

The sheriff’s office has not released additional details about the vehicle damage or whether anyone was injured.

The case highlights the additional legal consequences that can result when contraband is allegedly brought into a correctional facility — an issue that can affect detention operations and public safety across the county.
