Miami, FL – Breezy northeast winds and rain showers are expected to impact South Florida this week, bringing hazardous marine conditions and heightened rip current risks. Beachgoers and boaters are urged to remain cautious as conditions remain unfavorable through Wednesday evening.

According to the National Weather Service Miami, northeast winds of 20 to 25 mph will persist, generating rough surf and a high risk of rip currents along Atlantic Coast beaches, including Broward and Miami-Dade counties. Swimmers are strongly advised to stay near lifeguards and avoid deeper waters, as rip currents can sweep even strong swimmers offshore.

Tuesday’s forecast includes a 60% chance of showers and thunderstorms, primarily in the morning, with highs reaching near 78 degrees. Winds will remain steady at 14 to 20 mph, with gusts approaching 25 mph. Overnight lows will dip to 73 degrees as cloud cover lingers.

By midweek, conditions will remain unsettled. Wednesday brings a 50% chance of scattered storms and showers, which could dampen travel plans and outdoor activities. Winds are expected to ease slightly by Thursday, but a lingering 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms persists, paired with partly sunny skies and highs near 78.

Boaters should exercise extreme caution, as seas are forecast to range between 6 to 9 feet, creating hazardous conditions offshore. Marine advisories remain in place for Atlantic waters through midweek.

Locals planning outdoor activities are encouraged to monitor updates from the National Weather Service and heed safety warnings, particularly when visiting beaches.
