Coldwater, MI – A Branch County man was arrested Monday after allegedly fleeing deputies during a traffic stop in Quincy Township, according to the Branch County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were called to the 100 block of Castle Pine Drive for reports of a suspicious vehicle. The caller told authorities that an older man driving an orange Jeep Wrangler had pulled into a driveway, briefly exchanged words, then appeared to stumble before driving away on Wildwood Road.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies located the suspect vehicle near the Marble Lake Public Access area. The driver, identified as Ronnie Marshall, was stopped and asked to exit the vehicle after officers suspected he was intoxicated and driving without a valid license.
Marshall allegedly refused, put his vehicle in drive, and fled the scene, leading deputies on a short pursuit. He was later taken into custody at a residence on Williams Drive in Quincy Township.
Marshall was booked into the Branch County Jail on charges of fleeing and eluding, operating while intoxicated (third offense), driving without a license, and transporting open intoxicants. His bond was set at $25,000 cash or surety, with arraignment scheduled for November 4, 2025, in 3A District Court.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
