Braidwood, IL – Braidwood residents have an opportunity to save lives and receive a small reward this Wednesday during the city’s community blood drive.

According to the Braidwood Police Department, the event will be held Wednesday, June 18, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Braidwood City Hall Meeting Room, located at 141 W Main St. Walk-ins are welcome, but pre-registration is strongly encouraged as those with appointments will be given priority.

The blood drive is being organized in partnership with Versiti Blood Center of Illinois. Donors who register online and include the word “POOL” in the notes section will receive a $25 e-gift card as a thank-you.

Organizers are urging donors to eat a healthy meal and stay well-hydrated prior to giving blood. A valid photo ID is required to participate.

Residents can sign up through the official Versiti link or by scanning the QR code found on promotional materials shared by local officials. The initiative aims to support regional hospitals and patients in need of life-saving blood donations.

This local effort reflects an ongoing push across Illinois to bolster community involvement in healthcare support during the summer months, when blood donations often dip.
