Bradley, IL – For years, residents of Bradley, Illinois, came to know a man named Vince—not through headlines or achievements, but through something quieter: a wave, a smile, or a few kind words.

Vince, who spent much of his time near local stores like Meijer and Lowe’s, was a fixture in the community despite living without a home. Now, following his recent passing, locals are honoring the man who brought warmth to strangers and left a lasting impression through simple kindness.

According to a GoFundMe page created by Stephanie Crum, Vince had no insurance or savings. The fundraiser aims to give him the dignified memorial he deserves. “Vince may not have had much, but he made an impact,” Crum wrote. “If you ever stopped to chat with him, shared a smile, or just recognized him riding by, we ask for your help.”

The family confirmed Wednesday that this is the official fundraising page after reports of duplicate fundraisers surfaced online.

A separate community post shared that the Kankakee County Coroner’s Office confirmed Vince’s family is handling arrangements, and that a celebration of life may be planned in the coming months.

To many, Vince was more than a passerby—he was a gentle reminder of humanity in everyday life. His quiet presence is already missed, but the community’s response ensures his memory will live on with the respect and recognition it deserves.
