Bourbonnais, Illinois – UpliftedCare is hosting multiple April events to support caregivers and individuals navigating grief, offering resources, education, and community connection.

According to event organizers, a Monthly Caregiver Support Group will be held Wednesday, April 8, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the UpliftedCare Community Grief Center, 3115 N. 1000 West Road. The session will feature Darla Savoie, LPN, a clinical intake liaison with more than three decades of healthcare experience.

Topics will include questions to ask medical providers, planning ahead for serious illness, and practical strategies to ease caregiving challenges. Organizers say attendees are encouraged to bring questions. Light refreshments will be provided, and RSVP is requested.

Later in the month, UpliftedCare will launch its “Business Side of Death” Grief Support Workshop Series with Part 1 scheduled for Saturday, April 18, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. The free workshop will focus on legal, financial, and logistical responsibilities following the loss of a loved one. Registration is required.

In addition to special events, UpliftedCare continues to offer a full schedule of weekly grief support groups, including sessions for loss of a parent or spouse, women’s grief groups, child loss support, and walk-and-talk gatherings at Perry Farm. Select specialty groups, such as grief yoga and children’s programs, are offered monthly.

All services are free, though advance registration is required for participation.

These programs may be especially helpful for local families, caregivers, and individuals balancing work, school, and personal loss.
